Error performance of general order selection in correlated nakagami fading channels

چکیده
Abstract: A procedure for determining the probability distribution of the rth order statistic, Gr:L, r 1⁄4 1, 2, . . . , L, among a set of L correlated Nakagami diversity branch gains G1, G2, . . ., GL has been described in David and Nagaraja (2003) and Elkashlan et al. (2008). The results are used to evaluate the bit error rate (BER) of general order selection (GOS), a diversity method in which the rth order branch is selected for transmission, over correlated Nakagami fading branches. GOS can be used to improve system throughput and provide various levels of services, both of which are highly desirable in high-speed communication systems. Numerical and simulation results are presented and used to illustrate the effects of fading correlation on the BER associated with the rth order gain branch.

SC and SSC diversity reception over correlated Nakagami-m fading channels in the presence of CCI
Performance analysis of switched-and-stay combining (SSC) and selection combining (SC) diversity receivers operating over correlated Nakagami-m fading channels in the presence correlated Nakagami-m distributed co-channel interference (CCI) is presented. Novel infinite series expressions are derived for the output signal to interference ratio's (SIR’s) probability density function (PDF) and cumu...
متن کاملPerformance of Coded Systems with Generalized Selection Diversity in Nakagami Fading
We investigate the performance of coded diversity systems employing generalized selection combining (GSC) over Nakagami fading channels. In particular, we derive a numerical evaluation method for the cutoff rate of the GSC systems. In addition, we derive a new union bound on the bit-error probability based on the code’s transfer function. The proposed bound is general to any coding scheme with ...
متن کاملA unified approach to performance evaluation of switched diversity in independent and correlated fading channels
This paper outlines a unified approach to performance evaluation of a broad class of coherent, differentially coherent and noncoherent digital communication systems with dual-branch switched diversity (SWC) reception over generalized fading channels. The moment generating function (MGF) of the signal power at the output of the SWC combiner and the first-order derivative of the MGF with respect ...
متن کاملUnified analysis of switched diversity systems in independent and correlated fading channels
The moment generating function (MGF) of the signal power at the output of dual-branch switch-and-stay selection diversity (SSD) combiners is derived. The first-order derivative of the MGF with respect to the switching threshold is also derived. These expressions are obtained for the general case of correlated fading and nonidentical diversity branches, and hold for any common fading distributio...
متن کاملPerformance of Dual MRC Receiver for M-ary Modulations over Correlated Nakagami-m Fading Channels with Non-identical and Arbitrary Fading Parameter
Performance of a dual maximal ratio combining receiver has been analyzed for M-ary coherent and non-coherent modulations over correlated Nakagami-m fading channels with nonidentical and arbitrary fading parameter. The classical probability density function (PDF) based approach is used for analysis. Expressions for outage probability and average symbol error performance for M-ary coherent and no...
